Liverpool boss Arne Slot will hope to secure all three points when he takes charge of the Reds at Anfield for the first time against Brentford on Sunday.

The Dutchman watched his team beat Ipswich Town 2-0 last weekend, with Diogo Jota and Mohamed Salah scoring at Portman Road.

The Tractor Boys, who achieved automatic promotion from the Championship at the end of last season, had impressed during the first-half but were ultimately outclassed by the Merseyside outfit.

Liverpool are the only Premier League side that are yet to make a signing during the transfer window so far, but according to Football Insider they are plotting a sensational move for a Serie A star in the final week of the window.

The report claims that the Reds are considering a late move for Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia before the window closes.

The Georgia international, who impressed for his country at the Euros earlier this summer, has been a target for Liverpool for some time now.

Kvaratskhelia is the subject of interest from Liverpool

He joined Napoli from Dinamo Batumi two years ago and enjoyed a superb debut season in Italy, scoring 14 goals and providing 17 assists in 43 games across all competitions.

Last term was slightly less fruitful for the Georgian, but Liverpool are interested in signing him and could make a move to do so in the final days of the window.

The Premier League side have so far missed out on a number of transfer targets during the current window, and the report claims that Slot and those in charge of their recruitment are considering a late move to make a marquee signing.

The winger is contracted to Napoli until the summer of 2027, but Liverpool could test the Serie A side’s resolve with a late move for the player.
