Liverpool return to action when they face Wolves at Molineux on Saturday.

Jurgen Klopp’s side currently sit fifth in the Premier League table having picked up ten points from their opening four matches, and the German will be hoping that they can extend their impressive start to the campaign.

New signing Ryan Gravenberch could make his debut for the Reds against Wolves, with the Dutchman having joined the club from Bayern Munich on the final day of the summer transfer window.

Waturo Endo, Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai also joined Klopp’s side this summer, but it appears that the former Mainz boss is still keen to add to bolster his squad.

According to Sport via The Liverpool Echo, the Merseyside outfit are monitoring Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams.

The report claims that the Reds have made contact with the Spanish side about the possibility of signing the 21-year-old.

Williams joined the youth setup at Athletic from fellow Spanish side Osasuna and, having made his senior debut for the club during the 2020/21 campaign, he has now played 89 times across all competitions.

Williams has impressed for Athletic over the past couple of seasons

The Spaniard, who can operate on either flank, has scored 12 goals and provided 11 assists for his current side.

Williams has also started the new season in impressive form, providing four assists in as many La Liga matches to help Athletic start the campaign strongly.

He has also been capped ten times by Spain at senior level, scoring twice.

Williams reportedly has a release clause set at around £42 million, but his current contract is set to expire next summer which has thrown his future into doubt.
