Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Brazil international goalkeeper Alisson Becker, according to Calciomercato.

The Premier League side, who ended leaders Manchester City’s sensational unbeaten start to the top-flight season with a thrilling 4-3 victory at Anfield on Sunday, have been linked with the AS Roma shot stopper during this month’s transfer window.

The 25-year-old, who has 22 international caps for his country, has kept 12 clean sheets in 25 appearances in all competitions for the Serie A outfit so far this season.

Alisson, who joined Roma back in July 2016 following his move from Brazilian club Internacional, has recorded 16 shut outs in 40 games overall for the club, including a clean sheet against Chelsea during his side’s 3-0 win in Group C of the UEFA Champions League this campaign.

The Reds could face stiff competition from Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain for the Brazilian’s signature, though he is unlikely to leave the Stadio Olimpico this month, but could be open to a summer move.

Roma have reportedly slapped a £44m price tag on Alisson’s services, meaning Liverpool would have to smash their current transfer record fee to lure the goalkeeper to Anfield, after Mohamed Salah’s £36m switch from Roma last summer.
