Liverpool have reportedly joined Premier League rivals Arsenal and Tottenham in the race to sign former Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez, according to don balon.

The Reds, who lost 1-0 at Anfield on Sunday to Louis van Gaal’s Red Devils, are interested in welcoming the Bayer Leverkusen hitman back to English football following his terrific performances in Germany this term.

The 27-year-old, who has 78 international caps for Mexico, has scored a sensational 19 goals in 22 appearances in all competitions for the Bundesliga outfit this season.

However a deal for Hernandez, who left Old Trafford back in August for a reported £7.3m, would be unlikely during the January transfer window as he cannot feature for another club this campaign having already played for United and Leverkusen.
