Liverpool are reportedly ready to make a move for USA international Christian Pulisic ahead of the upcoming January transfer window following injury to Philippe Coutinho, according to the Daily Mail.

The Premier League side, who currently sit just one point behind top-flight leaders Chelsea following Saturday’s 2-0 victory over lowly Sunderland, have been continually linked with a move for Borussia Dortmund’s highly-rated midfielder.

The 18-year-old, who has 11 international caps for his country, has scored two goals and provided six assists in 14 appearances in all competitions for the Bundesliga outfit so far this season.

Pulisic, who used to play in the youth team at non-league Brackley Town, was the subject of a failed bid from The Reds earlier this summer.

However, following the news that fellow midfielder Coutinho could be sidelined for up to six weeks with ankle ligament damage, manager Jurgen Klopp is ready to firm up his interest in the new year and table an offer for the Dortmund starlet.

The report adds that it would take close to £25m for the German side to consider selling the attacking midfielder.
