Liverpool have had a tough week when it comes to transfers. On Monday it looked as if a deal for Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk was all but done, however, after accusations of tapping up from the Saints and the Reds were forced into an embarrassing apology which resulted in their Van Dijk interest being withdrawn.

After the debacle surrounding the Dutchman you would have though the Merseysiders would have left their annual visit to the Southampton ranks for at least one season, however, according to reports from The Times they are heading straight back there.

The paper claim that Serbian attacking-midfielder Dusan Tadic is the next St. Mary’s star in the sights of those at Anfield, after the playmaker caused somewhat of a stir over his playtime under manager Claude Puel this season.

Whilst on international break earlier in the campaign the Serb, who has been involved in over 90% of his country’s goals this qualifying campaign, claimed that he deserved far more time on the pitch than his French boss was affording him.

As per the reports, should Liverpool move on the 28-year-old, the could be in for a bargain given a supposed £13m release clause in his current deal.
