Liverpool are plotting a club-record offer to Bayer Leverkusen for playmaker Kai Havertz, according to reports.

The 20-year-old is considered to be one of the best young talents in Europe having played 126 matches for the German side since making his debut as a 17-year-old.

Now reports in Germany (via Mundo Deportivo) claim that the Premier League leaders are lining up a big-money bid for the Germany international.

Havertz has won seven caps for Germany.

It’s thought the Reds are considering offering £107 million which would not only be a club-record but a Premier League record for an incoming transfer.

The report goes on to claim that the Leverkusen star would come into replace Adam Lallana, who is expected to leave Anfield at the end of the season.

Manchester United and Bayern Munich have also been linked with a move for the midfielder.

Havertz’s most productive season came last term when he scored 17 times in 34 Bundesliga games.
