Liverpool are being linked with a £4m summer move for Spain international Ignacio Camacho, according to The Metro.

The Premier League side, who currently sit eighth in the standings after back-to-back wins over Aston Villa and Manchester City, could firm up their interest with a solid offer for the Malaga man at the end of the 2015-16 campaign.

The 25-year-old, who earned his sole international cap for Spain against Germany back in November 2014, has made just 14 appearances in all competitions for the La Liga outfit so far this season due to injury problems.

Camacho, who came through the youth ranks of Spanish rivals Atletico Madrid, could be available for as little as £4m this summer as debt-ridden Malaga will be forced to offload their prized assets for future funds.

The report suggests Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has already sent scouts to watch Camacho in action, who acts as a strong and defensive midfielder, an ideal replacement perhaps for Lucas Leiva who has not yet been approached over a new deal at Anfield.

The Brazil international’s current deal on Merseyside expires next June.
