Liverpool have reportedly turned their attentions to signing Egypt international star Mohamed Salah, according to Goal.

The Premier League side, who drew 0-0 with Southampton in the top-flight at the weekend, have been linked with the AS Roma forward this summer, after seemingly moving on from previous transfer target Julian Brandt (Bayer Leverkusen).

The 24-year-old, who has 52 international caps for his country, has scored 17 goals and provided 14 assists in 38 appearances in all competitions for the Serie A outfit so far this season.

Salah, who only sealed a permanent switch to Roma back in August from Premier League rivals Chelsea, has been identified as an alternative target by Reds boss Jurgen Klopp this summer.

The report suggests Liverpool tried to sign the winger back in January 2014 from FC Basel, prior to his move to Stamford Bridge, where he netted just two goals in 19 first-team appearances for The Blues, before being loaned out to Fiorentina and Roma respectively.
