Liverpool’s Premier League title hopes were dealt a huge blow on Sunday as they were beaten 1-0 by Crystal Palace at Anfield.

The Reds could have moved top with victory over the Eagles, but fell behind when Eberechi Eze directed Tyrick Mitchell’s low cross past Alisson.

The Merseyside club applied significant pressure during the second half but were unable to find an equaliser, with Nathaniel Clyne and Mitchell both making last-ditch blocks to deny the Reds.

Jurgen Klopp may now have missed the chance to win another trophy in his final weeks in charge of the club, with the German set to depart at the end of the current campaign.

This summer will be one of significant change at Anfield, and it appears that one of the club’s loanees is set to be part of the first team next term.

As per Football Insider, youngster Fabio Carvalho is set to be involved in the first team at Anfield next season.

Carvalho has been in fine form for Hull since joining the Tigers in January

The 21-year-old is currently on loan at Championship side Hull City, having spent the first half of the campaign at German club RB Leipzig.

Carvalho made just 15 appearances during a frustrating period in Germany, and was therefore recalled in January before being sent to Hull.

Since making the switch to the Tigers, the attacking midfielder has made 16 appearances across all competitions, scoring eight goals.

In total the Portugal under-21 international has played 21 times for Liverpool at senior level, having joined the Reds from Fulham in 2022.

The report claims that the attacker is likely to be involved with the Reds next season after his impressive run of form for Hull, with his loan spell set to expire at the end of the season.
