Liverpool have emerged as the latest potential suitors who are interested in signing England international defender Michael Keane, according to the Daily Mail.

The Premier League side, who drew 1-1 against Manchester City on Sunday to stay fourth in the top-flight standings, have also been linked with the Burnley centre-half, alongside Merseyside rivals Everton, Manchester City and Leicester City.

The 24-year-old, who is yet to make his senior international debut for the Three Lions, although he is included in Gareth Southgate’s squad to face Germany and Lithuania this week, has scored two goals and provided one assist in 33 appearances in all competitions for The Clarets so far this season.

Keane, who graduated through the youth ranks at Premier League giants Manchester United, only to go on and feature five times for The Red Devils, is understood to have impressed Reds boss Jurgen Klopp, who is looking to lure a new defender to Anfield ahead of the 2017-18 campaign.

However, the report also suggests that Liverpool’s arch-rivals, Everton, are in pole position to secure Keane’s services instead.
