Liverpool have reportedly entered the running to sign France international Geoffrey Kondogbia, according to Goal Italy.

The Premier League side, who defeated Crystal Palace 4-2 at Selhurst Park this afternoon to stay joint-top of the table alongside Manchester City and Arsenal, are understood to be keeping an eye on the out-of-favour Inter Milan midfielder ahead of the January transfer window.

The 23-year-old, who has five international caps for his country, but was not in France’s Euro 2016 squad earlier this summer, has been restricted to just five league games for the Serie A outfit so far this season.

Kondogbia, who began his professional career at Lens, only arrived at the San Siro on a five-year deal from Ligue 1 side AS Monaco for a reported €31m back in June 2015.

The report suggests that Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is an admirer of the Frenchman, who was also believed to be a target for Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal last year, before his eventual switch to Inter.

However, one factor that may help Liverpool’s pursuit of the midfielder is the fact that Kondogbia is a Reds supporter.
