Liverpool are reportedly in talks with Borussia Dortmund over a deal for Belgium international striker Divock Origi, according to ESPN FC.

The Premier League side, who defeated Crystal Palace 2-0 at Selhurst Park on Monday night, have been linked with loaning the out of favour forward again for the 2018-19 campaign.

The 23-year-old, who has 25 international caps for his country, has not featured in The Reds’ first-team matchday squad so far this season.

Origi, who joined The Reds back in July 2014 following his £10m move from French outfit Lille, spent the 2017-18 term on loan at Wolfsburg, scoring seven goals in 36 appearances in all competitions.

The report claims fellow Bundesliga side Dortmund are interested in signing the Belgian before the close of the European transfer window on August 31, but Liverpool ideally want to sell the forward, and value their player at £27m.

However, Dortmund would prefer to sign Origi on loan, with a view to a permanent transfer next summer.

Origi has netted 21 goals in 77 outings for the Merseyside outfit overall.
