Arne Slot made it two wins from two games as Liverpool manager as his side defeated Brentford 2-0 on Sunday.

After beating Ipswich Town by the same scoreline last week, Luis Diaz opened the scoring for the Reds as Slot took charge of his side at Anfield for the first time.

Mohamed Salah then doubled their lead in the second half, with the hosts holding on to maintain their perfect start to the new campaign.

Liverpool are the only Premier League side that are yet to make a signing so far this summer, but it appears that could be about to change.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Merseyside outfit have made contact about a possible move for Juventus star Federico Chiesa.

The winger initially joined The Old Lady on loan from fellow Italian side Fiorentina in 2020, before making the move permanent in 2022.

In total he has played more than 130 times for Juventus across all competitions, scoring 32 goals and registering 23 assists.

Chiesa has emerged as a target for Liverpool in the final days of the transfer window

Romano claims that the Italy international has been made available for sale by his current side, with Liverpool now working to understand the requirements of a potential deal.

He suggests that the Premier League side made initial contact with their Italian counterparts on Monday, with the player himself said to be open to the prospect of a move to England.

Chiesa’s versatility will likely appeal to Slot and those in charge of Liverpool’s recruitment, with the Italian able to play in a number of attacking roles including on either flank and as an attacking midfielder.

He is currently in the final year of his contract with Juventus.
