Despite the signing of Ibrahima Konate, Liverpool’s summer transfer windows seems to concern players departing Anfield, rather than arriving.

The Frenchman arrived on Merseyside from RB Leipzig, providing much needed reassurance and quality to a defence ransacked by injuries last season.

In spite of the 22-year-old’s arrival, Liverpool have also seen key midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum leave for Paris Saint-Germain after five years of being in the engine room of Jurgen Klopp’s midfield.

While that news was mildly surprising, contract talks with captain Jordan Henderson have also allegedly hit a bump.

However, while Liverpool fans fret about the future of the 31-year-old skipper, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could be set to depart for West Ham United, according to reports from the Express.

Chamberlain only made 13 Premier League appearances for the Reds last season.

The Hammers are believed to have turned their attention to the 27-year-old after Jesse Lingard was retained by Manchester United.

It is believed the Ox could provide the Hammers with the much needed attacking thrust and directness left behind by Lingard which powered David Moyes’ side to an impressive sixth placed finish last season.

Chamberlain has impressed in spells for The Reds, particularly during their run to the Champions League final in the 2017/18 season.

Unfortunately, injuries have stagnated his development and progress with Klopp’s men and a move could be the best thing for the man with 35 England caps.

Moreover, Moyes would also value Chamberlain’s experience and versatility which sees him able to play as a midfielder, wing-back, wide forward and even as a false nine, where he has impressed for Liverpool during this pre-season.
