Liverpool head coach Arne Slot has enjoyed an impressive start to life in charge at Anfield.

The Dutchman took charge of the Reds earlier this summer, succeeding club legend Jurgen Klopp who departed after a successful nine-year spell at the helm.

The Reds beat newly-promoted Ipswich Town 2-0 on the opening weekend of the new Premier League season, before defeating Brentford by the same scoreline on Sunday afternoon.

On Tuesday, Liverpool completed their first signing of the summer window with goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili joining from Valencia, although the Georgian will stay put at the Spanish side on loan for the rest of the season.

Now, one of Slot’s midfielders is reportedly set to depart Anfield on loan.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Stefan Bajcetic is set to complete a loan move to Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg.

Bajcetic is set to join Austrian side RB Salzburg on loan for the rest of the season

He claims that the Austrian side are set to finalise the details of the proposed loan deal on Wednesday.

Bajcetic, 19, joined Liverpool’s youth setup from Celta Vigo in 2021 and has since been on the fringes of the Reds’ first team squad.

In total he has played 22 times for the Merseyside outfit at senior level, scoring on one occasion.

The teenager survived an overhaul of Liverpool’s midfield last summer, when the likes of Jordan Henderson, Fabinho and James Milner departed and Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai were among those to arrive at Anfield.

His contract with the Reds doesn’t expire until the summer of 2027, so it appears likely that the Spaniard could still have a future in the first team at Liverpool.
