Liverpool moved top of the Premier League table with a 2-0 win over Burnley at Turf Moor on Tuesday evening.

Goals from Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota were enough to earn the Reds a crucial victory, moving Jurgen Klopp’s side above title rivals Arsenal who face West Ham United on Thursday.

With the January transfer window fast approaching, it appears that those in charge of Liverpool’s recruitment are considering a move for a Premier League full-back.

According to 90min, the Merseyside outfit are considering a move for Fulham’s Antonee Robinson.

The report claims that Liverpool have held talks with the Cottagers about a potential move for the American, as they search desperately for cover at left-back.

Liverpool’s current left-backs – Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas – are both currently injured, leaving Klopp to play right-back Joe Gomez as a makeshift left-sided defender during the win over the Clarets.

Robinson has emerged as a target for Liverpool as they look for cover at left-back

Robinson, 26, joined Fulham from Football League side Wigan back in 2020 and has since made 128 appearances for the Cottagers across all competitions.

The USA international has impressed of late, making 21 appearances so far this season.

Scotland international Robertson has played an integral role for Klopp’s side over recent seasons but suffered a shoulder injury while on international duty in October and hasn’t featured for the Reds since.

Tsimikas, meanwhile, suffered a broken collarbone during Liverpool’s 1-1 draw against Arsenal on Saturday and is expected to be out for some time.

The two injuries have prompted Klopp to consider a move for Robinson, but it remains to be seen whether or not Premier League rivals Fulham would be willing to let the defender leave.

The American signed a new five-year contract as recently as July.
