Liverpool are said to be closely monitoring Germany starlet Leroy Sane, according to Football Insider.
The Premier League side, who thrashed rock-bottom Aston Villa 6-0 at the weekend, have been impressed by the highly-rated forward’s performances for Schalke so far this term.
The 20-year-old winger, who made his international debut for the defending World Cup winners back in November 2015 against France, has scored six and assisted five goals in 28 appearances in all competitions for the Bundesliga outfit this season.
The report suggests Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is keeping a close eye on the rising young star and has already sent scouts out to watch his glittering displays in his homeland.
Sane, who is also attracting interest from Arsenal and Manchester City, could therefore follow current teammate Joel Matip to Anfield this summer.
The Cameroon international signed a pre-contract agreement with Liverpool yesterday, where he will complete a free transfer to the Premier League after the conclusion of the 2015-16 campaign.
Matip has agreed terms to a four-year deal with the Reds worth £60,000-a-week.
