A late goal from Luis Diaz rescued a point for Liverpool against Luton Town on Sunday.

The Reds missed a number of huge chances to take the lead at Kenilworth Road, before Tahith Chong put the Hatters ahead ten minutes before full-time.

Jurgen Klopp’s side then continued to push for a goal but were unable to find an equaliser until the fifth minute of added time, when substitute Diaz drew the visitors level with a header.

The Colombian was making his first appearances for the Reds since his father was taken hostage in his homeland, and following the match he appealed for those responsible to free him.

The draw keeps Liverpool third in the Premier League table, three points behind leaders Manchester City.

Now, it appears that the Merseyside outfit could be plotting a move for a Premier League defender who is set to be a free agent next summer.

Kelly has attracted interest from both Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur

According to Football Insider, the Reds have set their sights on Bournemouth star Lloyd Kelly.

Kelly, 25, is set to be out of contract at the end of the current season and Liverpool are said to have joined rivals Tottenham Hotspur in showing an interest in the Englishman.

The defender joined the Cherries from Championship side Bristol City back in 2019 and has since made a total of 124 appearances for the club across all competitions, including 38 in the Premier League.

Naturally a centre-back, Kelly is also capable of operating as a left-back and that is said to be something that appeals to Klopp as he searches for reinforcements to bolster his defensive options.

Italian giants AC Milan are also said to be interested in the defender, who would be free to walk away from the south coast side next summer.

In order to avoid that scenario, Bournemouth could accept an offer for the player during the January transfer window.
