Holders Liverpool face West Ham United in the third round of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night.

The Reds have started the new season strongly, winning five of their six games across all competitions so far this term.

Last time out they were hugely impressive in cruising to a 3-0 win over Bournemouth at Anfield, and Slot will hope to see his side pick up where they left off when they host the Hammers.

Off the pitch, the Merseyside outfit are reportedly chasing a Premier League full-back.

As reported by Football Insider, Liverpool are monitoring Fulham defender Antonee Robinson’s situation.

The Reds are said to be on the hunt for a new left-back, and the USA international has emerged as one of their top targets.

Robinson, 27, joined the Cottagers from Football League side Wigan Athletic four years ago and has since played more than 150 times for the West London side.

Robinson has attracted interest from Liverpool

The American has been particularly impressive over the past 18 months, establishing himself as one of the best full-backs in the Premier League.

It is claimed that Liverpool maintain their long-standing interest in the player and could move for him in the near future, with a deal potentially being agreed as early as January.

Liverpool regard Robinson as an ideal long-term successor to first choice left-back Andy Rovertson, who is now in his thirties and has less than two years left on his current contract.

As well as the Reds, Premier League rivals Manchester United are also believed to be interested in Robinson as they search for a new left-back due to Luke Shaw’s repeated injury problems.

Robinson’s current contract with Fulham has just under three years remaining, which puts the Craven Cottage side in a relatively commanding position during negotiations with other clubs.
