Liverpool have already added two midfielders to their squad this summer, signing both Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai.

The duo – signed from Brighton and Hove Albion and RB Leipzig respectively – will add much needed depth to Jurgen Klopp’s squad, following the departures of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Naby Keita and James Milner last month.

All three players departed Anfield following the expiry of their respective contracts, but it appears that the Reds could now be prepared to sell two more midfield stars.

According to Football Insider, the Merseyside outfit are prepared to sell both Jordan Henderson and Thiago Alcantara this summer.

The report claims that England international Henderson has been the subject of interest from Saudi Arabian Pro League side Al-Ettifaq.

Former Reds captain Steven Gerrard recently became manager of the Pro League club, and Henderson is ready to accept a lucrative offer to join his former teammate, the report claims.

Henderson looks increasingly likely to leave Liverpool this summer

If the player does agree to join the Saudi side, Liverpool won’t stand in his way and a deal should be agreed easily.

Since joining the club from Sunderland in 2011, Henderson has made 492 appearances for Liverpool and has won eight trophies, including the Champions League and Premier League.

It is also claimed that Liverpool are planning to sell another key player this summer, and Thiago is said to be the most likely candidate to depart.

The Spain international joined the Reds from German side Bayern Munich in 2020 and has since made 97 appearances for the club across all competitions.

He has also been the subject of interest from Saudi clubs, the report says, and Liverpool would be willing to allow the former Barcelona man to leave.

Thiago’s current contract runs until next summer, suggesting that a fee would need to be agreed in order to complete a deal.

Liverpool have spent around £95 million on Mac Allister and Szoboszlai, but the report claims that the Merseyside outfit are hoping to complete at least two more deals before the transfer window shuts.
