Liverpool are reportedly ready to complete a bargain £4.7million deal to sign Fiorentina striker Khouma Babacar, according to Calciomercato, via the Daily Mirror

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is keen to strengthen his attacking options in the summer with Daniel Sturridge’s long-term fitness still uncertain, and with last summer’s £32million signing Christian Benteke unsettled on Merseyside after struggling to hold down a spot in the first team.

The German manager has now identified the Senegal international as a potential answer to the club’s goalscoring problems, and has been alerted by the news that the 23-year-old could be available for less than £5million with the forward being in and out of the Serie A side’s starting XI this season.

Babacar, who has previously been a target for Manchester United, has scored six goals in 13 appearances for Fiorentina so far this term, and could be on the verge of a move to the Premier League.
