Premier League leaders Liverpool will hope to arrest their recent dip in form when they face Manchester City on Sunday.

The Reds boast an eight-point lead over second-placed Arsenal in the top flight table, but the Merseyside giants have won just one of their last three games in the competition.

Arne Slot will be desperate to see his side return to winning ways on Sunday against the Citizens, but the reigning champions will undoubtedly provide an interest test.

Ahead of the game, it appears that Liverpool have made the decision to put one of their forwards up for sale.

According to TBR Football, Liverpool will demand a fee of at least £60 million to sell forward Darwin Nunez during this summer’s transfer window.

The Uruguay international is enduring a difficult campaign despite the Reds’ having been in such sensational form this term.

Nunez has struggled so far this season

In total he has scored just six goals in 35 games across all competitions so far this season, although he has started just seven of Liverpool’s 26 Premier League games so far.

The report claims that the forward is likely to depart Anfield this summer, having been notified last month that Liverpool are willing to allow him to leave.

Despite interest in the player, the report also suggests that discussions over a potential move in January never progressed beyond talks between intermediaries.

While the Reds are willing to sell Nunez this summer, their £60 million asking price for the Uruguayan could mean that his only realistic destination may be the Saudi Arabian Pro League.

Nunez joined Liverpool from Portuguese side Benfica in 2022 and has since made more than 130 appearances for the club across all competitions, scoring 39 goals and providing 22 assists.

His current deal with the Premier League leaders is set to run until 2028.
