Liverpool responded to Chelsea’s 3-0 win over Leicester City by coasting to their own convincing victory, beating Arsenal 4-0 at Anfield to end the Gunners’ eight-game unbeaten run.

Jurgen Klopp’s side overwhelmed their opponents, with goals from Sadio Mane, Diogo Jota, Mohamed Salah and Takumi Minamino gifting the Reds three points and moving them up to third in the Premier League table.

Salah was once again on form for Klopp’s side, and the Egyptian extended his lead at the top of the division’s goalscoring charts with his 11th goal of the campaign, four clear of teammate Mane and Jamie Vardy on seven.

Salah has been the standout performer in the division so far this season, topping both the goalscoring and assists charts after 12 games.

The former Chelsea forward has been in sensational form for Liverpool this term, and Reds supporters could be set for more good news in the coming weeks as it appears that the Egyptian could soon be signing a new deal.

As per TeamTalk, outgoing Liverpool sporting director is set to leave Reds fans one last parting gift, with Salah set to agree to an extension to his current deal with the club.

Salah has started this season in his usual prolific form.

Salah, who has scored 16 goals in 16 games for the club this term, was set to be out of contract in 18 months, but it is now believed that he will sign an extension that will keep him in Merseyside.

Edwards is reportedly confident that Salah will agree to terms sooner rather than later, which will be a huge relief to Liverpool supporters, as well as Klopp.

Salah joined the club in 2017 after a £31.5 million move from Serie A side Roma.

Since then, he has scored a remarkable 141 goals in 219 games for the club, while also registering a further 53 assists.

News of Salah supposedly committing to the club will be welcomed by Liverpool fans, who faced the prospect of losing Salah as well as Mane and Roberto Firmino, all of whom have been linked with moves elsewhere in recent months.
