Liverpool are reportedly ready to open talks with Udinese as they look to sign midfielder Piotr Zielinski, according to the Daily Mail.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is keen to strengthen his side during the summer, and has been impressed with 21-year-old, who has spent the last two seasons on loan at Empoli.

Scouts from the Merseyside outfit watched the Polish midfielder in action against Genoa last week, and are understood to believe that the player’s energetic style would mean that he is a good fit to the way Klopp likes his sides to play.

Zielinski, who has 11 caps and three goals for his country, is expected to be part of his national team’s squad for Euro 2016.

Liverpool have already agreed pre-contract deals to sign two players in the summer – Schalke defender Joel Matip and 19-year-old Red Star Belgrade midfielder Marko Grujuc – as they look to get their business done early.
