Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will be keen to press on with his summer business this week after a disastrous start to proceedings.

Having pursued a deal for Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk the club were forced to withdraw their interest and apologise to the Saints after allegations of an illegal approach.

With that in mind, it looks as if the former Borussia Dortmund boss is gearing up his dealings this time around and will not be held back.

According to reports from the Daily Express, the Reds are willing to fork out £40m for Arsenal’s £17m-rated midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain as well as offering the England international £100k-a-week in order to tempt him away from The Emirates.

Speaking on Goals on Sunday earlier in the season, the Gunners man admitted that now may be the time for him to consider his future, however, since then the former Southampton youngster has become crucial to Arsene Wenger’s plans, having been shifted to a right wing-back role.
