They may have spectacularly fallen out of the title race, but Liverpool cannot be counted out of the conversation this season.

A spectacular amount of injuries, particularly in their defensive areas with Joe Gomez, Joel Matip, and the imperious Virgil Van Dijk all having their seasons cut short due to injury saw Jurgen Klopp’s side’s title defence crumble spectacularly.

Six defeats in eight Premier League matches between February and March even saw The Reds fall out of the race for the top four, let alone the League title.

However, they finished very strongly, winning seven and drawing two of their final nine matches to secure a strong third placed finish.

Klopp appears to be adding extra fire power to his attacking front line, and according to Spanish outlet Marca, the former Borussia Dortmund manager is very keen on Bournemouth’s Arnaut Danjuma.

Danjuma will be a wanted man this summer

The Netherlands star was very impressive for The Cherries last season scoring seventeen goals and contributing nine assists in all competitions.

He records impressive statistics considering he mainly operates from the wider areas, and he could be the perfect bargain buy for the Reds.

Liverpool have already signed classy defender Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig for £36 million, but they are still on the lookout for new energy and new ideas.

A new winger is appearing to be the priority with Liverpool also being linked with West Ham United’s Jarrod Bowen in recent weeks as well.

While Mohammed Salah continued his unbelievable scoring form for Liverpool last season, the goals and assists did seem to dry up for Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane who struggled to get themselves on the score sheet.

Competition for Danjuma will be high, as Europa League holders Villarreal, Ligue One champions Lille, and Premier League entertainers Leeds United are all reportedly interested in the Dutchman.
