Liverpool should snap up these 2 Arsenal stars this summer

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool host Middlesbrough on the final day of the Premier League season knowing victory will secure Champions League football for next season.

The Reds currently sit fourth in the division with 73 points from their 37 matches, and just a point clear of Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal in fifth, whose run of four straight victories has given them a chance of recording a 21st successive top four finish under the Frenchman.

However, Klopp’s men know that three points against Steve Agnew’s relegated Boro on Sunday would be enough for a return to Europe’s elite competition, which would surely represent a great first full season in charge for Klopp at Anfield.

Nonetheless, regardless of whether they make the Champions League or not, Liverpool will have to strengthen in the summer to sustain a Premier League title challenge next term, and they may even take a look at some players currently turning out for their rivals in a bid to do just that.

And one of those clubs they could turn to is Arsenal, so here are TWO Gunners stars who Liverpool should look to snap up this summer…

Kieran Gibbs

Kieran Gibbs’ future at Arsenal still remains unclear even with just one game of the season remaining.

The England international hasn’t always been first-choice at the Emirates this term, playing second fiddle to Nacho Monreal, and with his contract up in the summer of 2018, he could be eyeing up a move away from North London in a bid for more regular first team football.

And Klopp’s Liverpool should be keeping tabs on his situation, given the Reds have been playing midfielder James Milner at left-back, and their natural choice Alberto Moreno has not been good enough.

Yet, with European football next term, Liverpool will surely need a natural left-back to compete, regardless of how well Milner has done this season, and Gibbs could be that man.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Like Gibbs, there have been murmurings about the future of 23-year-old Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, with Liverpool one side linked with a move for the England star.

And it’s a move that would certainly make sense given the current lack of depth in that Reds squad, as well as the Arsenal man’s ability to play in several different positions.

He could play out wide in a front three when needed or as part of Klopp’s central midfield three, and if the Liverpool boss were to change things up and maybe play a back three, Oxlade-Chamberlain has proven to be a very good wing-back.

The 23-year-old said back in October that he would consider his future at Arsenal if he didn’t get more regular first team football, and although he has played more in recent weeks, he’s still not quite nailed down a regular spot.

Thus, Liverpool should seriously consider a move for the England man this summer.
