Liverpool have reportedly slapped a £14m price tag on Wales international Joe Allen this summer, according to the Daily Mail.

The Premier League side, who finished eighth in the English top-flight standings and reached the final in the UEFA Europa League last term, have already turned down an £8m bid from Swansea City for the central midfielder.

The 26-year-old, who has 30 international caps for his country and is currently with the Wales national squad at EURO 2016, scored three goals and provided three further assists in 37 appearances in all competitions for the Reds last season.

Allen, who has a year left on his current deal at Anfield, originally joined Liverpool from the Welsh outfit back in August 2012 following a £15m switch.

The report suggests that Jurgen Klopp’s side have stumped up their valuation of the midfielder following his impressive displays at the European Championships this summer, where Wales will face Portugal in the semi-finals on Wednesday night.
