Liverpool could extend their lead at the top of the Premier League table to four points with victory over Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

The Reds have enjoyed a hugely successful week, firstly winning the Carabao Cup against Chelsea at Wembley, before cruising past Championship side Southampton in the FA Cup fifth round on Wednesday.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are still on course to win a quadruple this season, and victory at The City Ground will move the Reds a step closer to doing so.

The German is set to depart Anfield this summer, while talisman Mohamed Salah has also been linked with a move away from the club.

Now, it has emerged that Salah’s future could have a huge impact on the future of another Liverpool star.

As reported by The Sun, winger Luis Diaz could depart the club this summer if Salah signs a new contract.

Salah was the subject of a £150 million offer from Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad last summer, and the Pro League outfit are expected to renew their interest this summer.

Diaz could make a shock exit from Anfield this summer

Liverpool are understandably reluctant to allow the Egyptian to leave, though, and are hopeful of agreeing an extension to his current deal which is set to expire at the end of next season.

If Liverpool can persuade Salah to sign a new deal, the report claims that Diaz could then be allowed to leave.

The 27-year-old joined the Reds from Porto back in 2022 and has since made more than 80 appearances for the club, scoring 21 goals and providing 13 assists.

After initially impressing when arriving in England, Diaz endured a difficult start to the current campaign but has improved in recent weeks.

The Colombia international is said to have attracted significant interest from a number of Spanish clubs.
