Liverpool are set to reward forward Diogo Jota with a lucrative new contract as a reward for his fine form since joining the club.

The Portuguese signed from Wolves back in 2020 and has since scored 34 goals in 85 matches for the Reds.

Jota, 25, is currently contracted to the Anfield outfit until 2025, but those in charge at the club are keen to extend his stay on Merseyside.

As reported by The Telegraph, the player will be offered a new long-term deal that will give him a significant pay increase.

Klopp is keen to keep hold of Jota

The move is part of Liverpool’s plans to secure the futures of their new look frontline which includes Jota, Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez.

The trio are all under the age of 26 and, while Mohamed Salah still has a significant part to play at Anfield, the departure of Sadio Mane and expected sale of Roberto Firmino will decrease the age of Klopp’s crop of attackers.

Jota missed the Community Shield victory over Manchester City on Saturday due to injury.
