Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott is set to be rewarded with a new contract less than 12 months after signing his last deal with the club.

The 19-year-old penned a five-year deal last summer, keeping him at the club until 2026, but the Reds are eager to extend his stay beyond that.

Elliott will be offered an even longer contract, which will also see his wages increase.

Eliott could soon extend his long-term contract with Liverpool

The teenager started on the bench for Liverpool’s season opener against Fulham on Saturday, but was called into action when Thiago Alcantara was forced off through injury.

The former Fulham player has made 22 appearances for Liverpool since joining the club in 2019, and also made 42 appearances for Blackburn Rovers while on loan at Ewood Park during the 2020/21 season.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has reportedly been impressed with the Englishman’s progress and performances since establishing himself in the senior set up, which is part of the reason for his new contract offer.
