Liverpool will be hoping to extend their good run of form when they travel to face Luton Town on Sunday.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have started the new campaign well, winning seven of their ten Premier League games so far to sit fourth in the table.

Last time out, the Reds battled to a 2-1 win over Bournemouth in the Carabao Cup, setting up a quarter-final tie against West Ham United in December.

Klopp will expect to see his side continue their good form against the Hatters, who have won just once since returning to the top flight.

In the build up to the match, though, it appears that the German could soon lose one of his most experienced players.

As per Football Insider, midfielder Thiago Alcantara is set to leave Anfield when his contract expires at the end of the current season.

The Brazilian joined Liverpool from German champions Bayern Munich three years ago, but his time on Merseyside has been plagued by injuries.

In total the 32-year-old has made 97 appearances for Klopp’s side across all competitions, but he has suffered a number of injuries including a current hip problem that has sidelined him for the entirety of the season so far.

Thiago hans’t featured for Liverpool since April, and he is now expected to depart the club next summer when his deal expires.

During the recent summer transfer window, Liverpool underwent a complete overhaul of their midfield, with James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Naby Keita, Jordan Henderson and Fabinho all departing.

Dominik Szoboszlai, Alexis Mac Allister, Ryan Gravenberch and Wataru Endo were all recruited in replacement, but it appears that another of Klopp’s more experienced players could depart in the coming months.
