Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino wants to stay with the Anfield outfit despite interest from Italian side Juventus, according to reports.

As per The Liverpool Echo, the forward has insisted that he wants to stay put in Liverpool.

Speaking to TNT Sports Brazil after the Reds’ Community Shield victory over Manchester City, Firmino said that he wants to stay.

“I love this team, this city and the fans. I’m here. I want to stay of course,” he said.

The 30-year-old has reportedly been the subject of interest from Serie A giants Juventus, who are looking for a replacement for Paolo Dybala who recently departed for Roma.

The Brazilian has played a huge role in much of Liverpool’s success over recent years, but has seen his playing time decrease significantly over the past two seasons.

The arrivals of both Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz over the past two years have limited his opportunities, and the arrival of Darwin Nunez from Benfica over the summer is likely to decrease it even further.
