Liverpool will face Bournemouth in the Carabao Cup fourth round after defeating Leicester City 3-1 on Wednesday.

The Reds fell behind early on at Anfield but goals from Cody Gakpo, Dominik Szoboszlai and Diogo Jota ensured Jurgen Klopp’s side progress into the next round.

Next up for the Merseyside outfit is a trip to London to face high-flying Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Saturday.

Both sides have started the new season strongly, with Liverpool and Spurs currently sitting second and fourth respectively in the Premier League table.

In the meantime, one of Klopp’s current stars is facing an uncertain future at the club.

As per 90min, the club are weighing up their options in regard to midfielder Thiago Alcantara.

Thiago hasn’t featured for Liverpool so far this season

The Spaniard joined Liverpool from German giants Bayern Munich in 2020 and has since made 97 appearances for the club across all competitions.

He has suffered with injuries over the past 18 months, though, and the report claims that those in charge of Liverpool are therefore considering his future as his current contract is set to expire next summer.

Thiago is yet to feature so far this season as he continues his return from a hip injury, but the midfielder was the subject of interest from clubs in both Turkey and Saudi Arabia over the summer, and the report claims that Liverpool considered allowing him to leave.

Despite the interest, it is also claimed that the player himself insisted that he wanted to stay at Anfield.

It is also claimed that the 32-year-old is keen to re-establish himself as part of Klopp’s new midfield, but he hasn’t yet had the opportunity to do so due to his absence.

Over the summer, Liverpool underwent a huge midfield overhaul with Szoboszlai, Alexis Mac Allister, Wataru Endo and Ryan Gravenberch all arriving on Merseyside.
