Liverpool will be looking to bounce back to winning ways when they host fierce Merseyside rivals Everton next weekend.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are winless in their last two Premier League games after falling to a controversial defeat to Tottenham Hotspur and being held to a draw against Brighton & Hove Albion.

Mohammed Salah’s brace at the Amex stadium wasn’t enough to see the Reds come away from the south coast with all three points.

Liverpool now sit in fourth place in the Premier League table having collected 17 points from eight games.

Forward Salah has made an excellent start to the season after scoring five goals and notching four assists.

The Egyptian was heavily linked with a move to Saudi Arabia over the summer, but the move never materialised.

However, it seems that Liverpool are listing potential replacements in the case that he does decide to leave the club.

According to The Mirror, Liverpool have made Leroy Sane their number one target to replace Salah.

Liverpool will consider making a move for Sane if Mohamed Salah leaves the club

The report claims that the Merseyside outfit are ready to smash their £80m club transfer record to land the German winger.

Sane, 27, has made 144 total appearances for Bayern Munich after joining from Manchester City in 2020.

In those 144 games, the winger has bagged 45 goals and provided 37 assists.

Like Salah, the German has had a flying start to the new Bundesliga campaign, netting six goals in seven games.

Sane also has a lot of Premier League experience under his belt after featuring 90 times for Manchester City under Pep Guardiola.

The Germany international helped the Sky Blues to win two league titles in his three-year tenure in Manchester.

His contract doesn’t expire until 2025, indicating that a hefty fee will be needed to lure him from the Bavarians.
