Liverpool will continue their pursuit of the Premier League title when they face Brighton and Hove Albion on Sunday afternoon.

The Reds currently sit second in the top flight table but are level on points with leaders Arsenal, trailing the Gunners only on goal difference.

With manager Jurgen Klopp set to depart Anfield this summer, the German will be desperate to lift his second Premier League title.

It appears that those in charge of the club are already planning for life after Klopp, though.

According to Italian journalist Fabio Santini via TEAMtalk, the Merseyside outfit have made a move to sign Juventus star Federico Chiesa.

Chiesa is a target for Liverpool

The winger has been the subject of interest from Manchester United in recent months, but Santini claims that Liverpool are hoping to beat their rivals to the player’s signature.

It is claimed that Juventus are now more inclined to sell Chiesa than his teammate Dusan Vlahovic, who had been heavily linked with a move away from Turin.

Chelsea had been touted as a possible destination for Vlahovic, but the report claims that the Italian giants are now likely to keep hold of the Serbia international.

With that in mind, Liverpool could now look to sign Chiesa, who is likely to cost around £34-39 million.

Chiesa, 26, joined Juventus from fellow Italian side Fiorentina in 2022, initially on a two-year loan, before making the move permanent in 2022.

He has scored 29 goals and provided 22 assists in 119 games for The Old Lady across all competitions, as well as featuring regularly for the Italy national side over the past few years.

In January 2022, the Italian attacker tore his ACL and was sidelined for several months, but he has since returned to full fitness and has netted seven times in 25 games so far this term.

The report claims that there ‘are already offers’ for the player, ‘particularly from Liverpool’.
