With the football season coming to an end, speculation surrounding transfers is rife as we enter the window.

A number of players are already being linked with moves to and from the Premier League, and it seems only a matter of time until some big deals start being completed.

Liverpool could be one of the Premier League’s busiest clubs during the upcoming window, as Jurgen Klopp looks to bolster his squad ahead of next season.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Naby Keita, Roberto Firmino and James Milner will all leave Anfield in the coming weeks when their contracts expire, and Klopp will therefore be keen to replace the quartet.

With that in mind, it appears that Liverpool could be closing in on their first summer signing.

As per Fabrizio Romano, Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Alexis Mac Allister’s agent is set to fly to England to finalise personal terms with the Reds.

The Italian journalist claims that the player’s father and agent will arrive in Liverpool in the next few hours for further discussions over a potential deal.

Mac Allister has been in fine form for Brighton this season

An agreement between Liverpool and the player is said to be close, and his agent will hope to agree the final details of the deal today.

Mac Allister, 24, has been in sensational form for the Seagulls this season and also played a key role as Argentina lifted the World Cup in Qatar in December.

The Argentine made 40 appearances across all competitions this term, and has been linked with a number of clubs including Chelsea and Manchester City.

It appears that the Reds have won the race to land the player, though, with Liverpool said to be hopeful of reaching an agreement with Brighton as soon as possible.

Liverpool boss Klopp will be looking to bolster his squad this summer as they look to improve on an underwhelming campaign.

The Merseyside outfit finished the season in fifth place in the Premier League table, missing out on a place in next season’s Champions League.
