Southampton midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has hailed Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side as the best he has ever faced after their 0-0 draw at St. Mary’s on Saturday.

The former Bayern Munich man, who has impressed on the South Coast since his arrival in the summer, told the club’s media team:

“I played in Germany against Bayern Munich and Dortmund, I played against Manchester City in the Champions League, but I must say this is maybe the best team I have ever played against.

“It’s unbelievable how they move, how they stand, how they work together – it’s like a symphony.”

The Saints managed to hold Klopp’s side, who went into the weekend as the league leaders, to a goalless draw on Saturday afternoon, although the hosts offered little going forward and failed to register a single shot on target for the first time since 2004.

Liverpool’s potent attacking force, including former Saint Saido Mane, were snuffed out by some wonderful saves from England international Fraser Forster as well as some masterful defending from centre half pairing Jose Fonte and Virgil van Dijk.
