Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp looks set to have a fight on his hands if he wants to land a deal for German defender, Jonas Hector.

According to reports from German publication, Express, Italian giants Inter Milan have also taken an interest in signing the 26-year-old.

The Koln defender, who is valued at €30m by his current side has been linked with a move to Merseyside as the former Borussia Dortmund boss looks to bolster his defence in January.

Despite the Reds’ front line being so prolific thus far this season, there are plenty of worries for the German manager at the back and his compatriot could make quite the impact at Anfield.

With such a high valuation for a defender it may seem that Liverpool will not battle, however, they have form when it comes to high prices, having spent £20m on former Southampton defender Dejan Lovren.

With James Milner still deputising at left-back, a replacement is certainly something Klopp will have to look into in the winter window.
