Liverpool target Adrien Rabiot is edging closer to signing a new deal with Paris Saint-Germain, according to Canal + France.

It looked as if the 23-year-old was set to depart the Ligue 1 champions on a free when his contract expires next summer.

However, new manager Thomas Tuchel has handed the midfielder more responsibility in his team, so much so that he is set to pen a three-year extension.

The Anfield club – as reported by ESPN – contacted the six-time France international in the summer, and have since been keeping an eye on developments.

PSG boss Thomas Tuchel has given Adrien Rabiot a new lease of life at the club.

Barcelona are thought to have held advanced talks with the former Manchester City youth team man, while Serie A duo Juventus and AS Roma have also been credited with interest.

But these latest developments, revealed by Canal + journalist Olivier Tallaron, means it’s likely that the Saint-Maurice-born star will commit his future to PSG.

Rabiot, who has made 214 appearances for Les Parisiens, caused controversy in the summer after refusing to be put on the standby list for France’s eventual World Cup winning squad.
