Liverpool will reportedly demand £20m if they are to sell France international defender Mamadou Sakho this month, according to BBC Sport (13:48).
The Premier League side, who currently occupy the runners-up spot in the English top-flight standings after their opening 20 league fixtures, five points adrift of league leaders Chelsea, are poised to receive interest in their out-of-favour defender during the January transfer window.
The 26-year-old, who has 28 international caps for his country, but has not featured for France since March 2016, has failed to make a single first-team appearance for The Reds so far this season.
Sakho, who has been demoted to the club’s development squad in the Premier League 2, is said to be interesting Turkish giants Galatasaray and La Liga side Sevilla, whilst Premier League rivals Southampton could make a move for the Frenchman if fellow centre-half Jose Fonte leaves St Mary’s Stadium.
The defender arrived at Anfield back in September 2013 following his reported £18m switch from Paris Saint-Germain and is contracted until the summer of 2020.
