New Liverpool boss Arne Slot is yet to add to his squad this summer, despite some key players departing Anfield.

The likes of Thiago Alcantara and Joel Matip have already departed the Reds, but Slot – who succeeded Jurgen Klopp at the end of last season – hasn’t yet made a signing in his current role.

Liverpool, like many Premier League sides, may have to offload more players this summer in order to adhere to the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules.

Now, though, it has emerged that the club will demand a significant fee for one of their young stars if they are to sell him during the current window.

As per Football Insider, the Merseyside giants will only sell Tyler Morton for a ‘significant’ fee this summer.

Morton spent last season on loan at Hull

The 21-year-old defensive midfielder is one of the most highly-rated players to progress through Liverpool’s academy in recent years.

Having previously impressed on loan at Blackburn Rovers, he spent last season on loan at Hull City, making 46 appearances for the Championship club across all competitions.

He also scored three times for Hull, as well as registering five assists.

Morton made his senior debut for the Reds against Norwich City in 2021, and has now played nine times for his boyhood club.

The report claims that the midfielder is one of the players that could be sold this summer in order to raise funds, but Liverpool are not willing to sell the player at a cut-price and have valued him in reflection to his impressive displays for Hull last term.

Morton, meanwhile, will try to impress new Reds head coach Slot in pre-season and earn himself a place in the Dutchman’s first team squad for the upcoming campaign.
