Liverpool were left frustrated after being held to a 2-2 draw by Brighton and Hove Albion on Sunday.

The Reds fell behind at The Amex when Simon Adingra scored, but a quickfire brace from Mohamed Salah put the visitors ahead.

Jurgen Klopp’s side missed a number of opportunities to extend their lead, and were left to rue wasted chances when Seagulls captain Lewis Dunk turned in a Solly March free-kick to draw the hosts level.

Neither side could find a winner on the south coast, meaning the Merseyside outfit returned home with the points shared.

The result leaves Liverpool fourth in the Premier League table heading into the international break, and Klopp will be hoping that his side can kick on when domestic football returns.

The German could also look to bolster his squad in January, and it now appears that Liverpool are set to prioritise a move for a midfielder when the transfer window reopens.

Andre remains a target for Liverpool ahead of the January transfer window

As per Football Insider, Liverpool will look to sign Fluminense midfielder Andre in the new year.

It is claimed that the Reds have already had a number of offers for the 22-year-old rejected, but they could return with a fresh bid for the player in January.

Andre is a product of the Brazilian side’s youth academy and has made more than 150 senior appearances for the club across all competitions.

He was handed his senior international debut for Brazil earlier this year, appearing as a second-half substitute during a 4-2 defeat against Senegal.

Over the summer Liverpool underwent a huge overhaul of their midfield, with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, James Milner, Naby Keita, Fabinho and Jordan Henderson all departing Anfield.

They were replaced with Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, Wataru Endo and Ryan Gravenberch, but it appears that Klopp is still keen to bolster his midfield options at the next opportunity.
