Liverpool stayed within touching distance of the Premier League’s top three with a 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

First-half goals from Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez put Jurgen Klopp’s side in a commanding position at the break at Anfield, before Mohamed Salah capitalised on a defensive mix-up late on to seal the victory for the hosts.

Egypt international Salah has been in fine form of late, scoring five goals in his past three Premier League matches.

The forward was linked with a move to Saudi Arabia over the summer and is expected to be the subject of further interest in January, but Liverpool are set to stand firm on their stance on the player.

According to Football Insider, the Merseyside outfit will reject any offers for Salah in January, regardless of how lucrative they may be.

Saudi Pro League clubs have spent big over the past six months and Al-Ittihad made an offer of £150 million for the 31-year-old over the summer, but the Reds rejected all interest.

Salah scored his tenth goal of the season during Liverpool’s win over Forest on Sunday

The Saudi side, who have already signed Salah’s former Liverpool teammate earlier this summer, were reportedly weighing up a £225 million bid for the former Chelsea man in the final days of the Saudi transfer window.

The report claims that Salah will now be labelled as ‘not for sale’ when the transfer window reopens in the new year, despite significant interest in the player from the Middle East.

Salah joined Liverpool from Italian side Roma back in 2017 and has since made 318 appearances across all competitions, scoring a remarkable 196 goals and providing 83 assists.

So far this season the Egyptian has scored ten goals across all competitions, including eight in ten Premier League matches.

Salah’s current contract, which is set to run until 2025, earns him a reported wage of £350,000-per-week.
