Liverpool will have to finish in the top four of the Premier League this season if they are to compete in next term’s Champions League.

The Reds, who reached the final of last season’s tournament, were knocked out by reigning champions Real Madrid after a 1-0 defeat on Wednesday.

Real welcomed Liverpool to the Spanish capital with a three-goal advantage after a 5-2 first leg win, and a goal from Karim Benzema was enough to ensure Carlo Ancelotti’s side progressed.

This summer looks likely to be one of significant change at Anfield, with a number of players likely to leave the club.

One player that could be on his way out of Merseyside is young goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher, reports suggest.

As per Football Insider, The Reds are prepared to listen to offers for the youngster this summer.

Kelleher, 24, has acted as Alisson’s understudy this season, with his three appearances all coming in the domestic cup competitions.

Keller scored in Liverpool’s penalty shoot-out victory over Chelsea last season

The Irishman has had a significant impact at Anfield, though, most notably during last year’s Carabao Cup final when the ‘keeper produced a fine display to help Liverpool beat Chelsea.

Despite that, Kelleher is reportedly no longer part of manager Jurgen Klopp’s plans and will therefore be sold this summer if a suitable offer is made.

In total, the Ireland international has made 20 appearances for Liverpool across all competitions, boasting an impressive tally of ten clean sheets in that time.

If the Irishman does depart Anfield Liverpool will almost certainly have to delve into the transfer market for a new goalkeeper, as the club’s only other ‘keeper, Spaniard Adrian, is set to leave when his contract expires this summer.

Kelleher signed a new contract with Liverpool as recently as 2021, with the deal set to run until 2026.

It appears unlikely that the Irish ‘keeper will remain with the club until the end of that contract, though.
