Liverpool maintained their two-point lead at the top of the Premier League table by beating Brentford 4-1 on Saturday.

Jurgen Klopp’s side went ahead when Darwin Nunez produced a fine looping finish, before midfielder Alexis Mac Allister doubled their advantage shortly after the restart.

Mohamed Salah then netted a third on his return after the Africa Cup of Nations, and Cody Gakpo added a fourth for the visitors in West London, while Ivan Toney grabbed a consolation goal for the Bees.

The win temporarily moved Liverpool five points clear at the top of the Premier League standings, before Arsenal closed the gap with a convincing 5-0 win over Burnley at Turf Moor.

With Klopp set to leave Anfield at the end of the current season, this summer is likely to be one huge change for the Merseyside club.

Now, it appears that those in charge of the club’s recruitment are eyeing an audacious move for highly rated young star.

Guilherme’s impressive performances have attracted interest from Liverpool

As per Football Insider, Liverpool are working hard to secure a move for Palmeiras starlet Luis Guilherme.

The 18-year-old, dubbed ‘the next Mbappe’, broke into the first team at his boyhood club last season and has now played 32 times at senior level.

A forward who is capable of playing either on the right flank or centrally, Guilherme’s electric pace has prompted comparisons to Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe.

At present, the teenager plays alongside fellow wonderkid Endrick, who has agreed a big money to with Spanish giants Real Madrid that will become active this summer.

Guilherme has been capped by his native Brazil at Under-20 level, and his performances for Palmeiras have attracted interest from a number of clubs including Liverpool.

The report claims that the teenager is a ‘top target’ for Liverpool ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.
