Coutinho in action against Arsenal at the Emirates in August.

Following the departures of Luis Suarez and Steven Gerrard, as well as the regular injuries suffered by Daniel Sturridge, Philippe Coutinho has become Liverpool’s key man, especially going forward.

While it hasn’t been the best of years for the Reds, the tricky Brazilian has shone at times, and he went home with the Players’ and Fans’ Player of the Season award from the club’s 2014/15 end of season ceremony, as well as the Goal and Performance of the Year gongs.

The 23-year-old has scored 11 goals in all competitions as we approach the end of the year, and has five goals and three assists so far this term, with his stand out performance coming in the 4-1 success against Manchester City at the Etihad.
