Adam Lallana’s absence was felt none more so than the Reds’ frustrating draw at home to Manchester United.

Liverpool lacked a bit of urgency, their passing was regularly astray, and struggled to find much of a rhythm against a stubborn United defence, but Lallana’s introduction off the bench made a big difference.

The former Southampton man has elevated his game this season from a mediocre campaign last time out, and is now an integral part of the midfield three Klopp employs, such is his energy, technical ability, and intelligent runs in behind the opposition defence.

This was lacking against United until Lallana’s introduction, highlighting how crucial he’ll be if Liverpool want to win the title this season.
