Liverpool’s hopes of completing an unprecedented quadruple this season are very much still on after they secured their place in the FA Cup final with victory over Manchester City on Saturday.

Jurgen Klopp’s side blew City away in the opening 45 minutes at Wembley, taking a commanding 3-0 lead into the break courtesy of an Ibrahima Konate header and a brace from Sadio Mane.

The win edges the reds ever closer to completing the quadruple, something that looked almost impossible at the start of the year when they trailed City by 14 points.

After an impressive run of form Klopp’s side are now back in contention, though, sitting just a single point behind the defending champions.

Having gone head-to-head in the FA Cup, and with a seven-game shootout to decide the fate of the league title, the two sides could even meet once again in the Champions League final, if they both win their respective semi-finals.

Now, though, it is being reported that Liverpool are ready to offer an improved contract to Mane, following his scintillating performance in the FA Cup on Saturday.

Mane scored twice as Liverpool beat Manchester City 3-2 at Wembley on Saturday

As per Football Insider, those in charge of the Reds are keen to extend the Senegalese international’s stay on Merseyside, with his current deal set to expire next summer.

The report, which credits a source from the club, also suggests that the player wishes to stay at Liverpool, potentially making a deal easier to agree.

Liverpool are currently in the midst of ongoing negotiations with star player Mohamed Salah, who has so far refused to budge on his demands, although recent reports claim that progress has been made of late.

The source claims, though, that Mane will not get a ‘huge’ salary that would shatter the club’s wage structure, with those in charge at Liverpool wary of offering lucrative deals to the 30-year-old.

Despite, the former Southampton man believes he has earned an improved deal, having been crucial to much of the Reds’ success so far this season.

The forward, who won the African Cup of Nations with Senegal earlier this year and also helped them secure a place at the World Cup, has scored 18 goals in 41 games across all competitions this term.
